Violent Mufumbwe to go for by-elections

Violent known Mufumbwe will go for a By-election within three months following its former MMD Member Parliament, Steven Masumba’s resignation from his party to formally join the ruling Patriotic Front.
Mr. Masumba’s resigned today – Thursday a day after a Lusaka High Court dismissed his bid to challenge his expulsion so he could maintain his Parliament and ministerial positions in the PF government.
The MMD expelled Mr. Musumba recently for allegedly campaigning for the PF in his constituency which was deemed insubordination. He had vowed to for polls but later u-turned and rushed to block his expulsion in court.
This will be the first by-election in North Western province after the 2011 tripartite elections.
