Zambia National Team on Sunday beat Burundi 1 – 0 the second group B match of the on-going Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) senior challenge cup, to record a first win under Coach Patrice Beaumelle.

The Chipolopolo Boys as the Zambian team is commonly known scored the only but important goal through Strike Festus Mbewe in the 64th minute in a game played at Machakos Stadium in Nairobi.

Zambia played out a 1 – 1 draw against Tanzania in their opening group match of the GOtv CECAFA Senior Challenge cup played on a muddy pitch at Machakos Stadium last Thursday.

The victory has boasted Coach Beaumelle who has never won any game from the time he took over from Herve Renard in October this year. He has played now played five games, won one, drew one and lost three.

  1. congratulation the chipolopolo boys well done guzy and you have made us proud again. Though in the first half you were out of play, as if you did not know of what to do. You wake up from the slumber of the second half when you realized that you are on the chopping board, for sure if you did not win the Burundi game you were going to be booted out for sure. Team’s spirit is good, when you work together with one another not what the Christopher katongo does when he has the ball he does not want to pass it on to another player who is unmarked. well done once more.
