Pilato joins the fight against coronavirus

Award winning musician Pilato real name Fumba Chama has joined the big fight against the deadly coronavirus (Covid-19) by being innovative.

Pilato has created a highly interactive online platform to help communities flag suspected Coronavirus cases. The platform called Zambia Covid Report allows citizens to report suspected cases of the disease in real-time.

The platform also have a section for statistics on the current confirmed cases, deaths if any, and a section for those who would have recovered from the virus.

Pilato says he was motivated to launch the platform after noticing the gap in interactive information relaying between the Ministry of Health and the citizens.

“To help the Ministry of Health in Zambia get information on suspected Coronavirus cases and easy reporting process by the public. I came up with this platform which I would be happy to surrender to the Ministry of Health for free. RT please,” he says.

According to the musician, the platform is his little way to help the country in fighting this pandemic which has since affected a number of people in the country and claimed thousands of lives world over.

Pilato is an award winning musician with a number of nominations under his belt.

Some of his nominations include, 2010 Award for Zambia’s Best Poet – Ngoma Awards, 2011 – Nominated For Best Video – Born & Bred Awards, 2014 – Award For Best Collaboration – Zambia Music Awards, as well as 2014 – Nominated For Most Conscious Song Category – Born & Bred Awards
