Motivation: There is power in choosing Associates

There is so much value in choosing your associates conscientiously.
Got a friend who has so much faith in my capabilities that after I completed secondary school could not go to college because I had no one to sponsor me, the guy told me to start studying accountancy all by myself!!! There was just no way I ever would have believed I could study something all by myself without any help and guidance whatsoever. The guy just told me: “Yande no matter how long it takes some day you gonna become an accountant.” Guess what? I didn’t even know what accountancy was about!!! To this day I have no idea how a college/university lecture theatre looks like but no doubt I am attaining the status of Chartered Accountant soon. Had so many obstacles along the way but they were actually just opportunities to know myself more.
Retrospectively speaking one of the most important things that happened to me is never to have had a chance to go college or university – I would never have known how brilliant I am!!! Today when I tell people that I am a self taught person most don’t believe me. Studying on my own made me realize that only I had the power to determine everything about my life.
Easy life is actually a disservice to most people, it deprives us of a great opportunity to discover our full potential. Unpleasant events/situations actually must be cherished – most of the most important life changing decisions by humanity were made after experiencing pain. Character is sculptured from unpleasant and painful experiences.
The first step towards achieving results in life is identification and acknowledgement of weaknesses and strengths. For me the greatest weakness was lack of belief in myself and this made me to be a terrible procrastinator. My greatest strengths: I am a guy who is never influenced by others and societal events no matter what!!! You will never manage to make me do something I don’t subscribe to. And I don’t give up on myself.
Along the way I have to learn is the people whom you least expect to be there for you are the ones who will come to your rescue when the going gets tough. In my case 99% of people I expected to be there actually ended up mocking me. People who help don’t even promise but just do.
To those still trying to find what life has in store for you know that there is power in the people you associate with.
