lwaNDAMINAZesco United Football Club coach George Lwandamina has suddenly left the Ndola based team to take charge of Tanzania’s most successful club, Young Africans.

Lwandamina, who recently led Zesco to the CAF Champions League semi finals and lost to eventual winners Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, has shocked many with his sudden move.

Lwandamina has reportedly turned up in Tanzania where he has signed a two year deal with Young Africans.

According to a Zesco United staffer who opted to remain anonymous, Lwandamiba left Zambia for Dar es Salaam just after Zesco’s 0-0 away draw against current FAZ Super Division leaders Zanaco on Saturday.

Lwandamina has been at Zesco since 2014, winning back-to-back FAZ Super Division titles with the five-time champions after successfully defending it in 2015.

His first match with the 21-time champions will be this Saturday at home against 9th placed Mbao.

Young are currently second on the log behind arch-rivals Simba on 21 and 29 points from ten and eleven games played respectively.

Lwandamina is the second Zambian to take up an appointment in Tanzania after Patrick Phiri who had three stints with Simba winning two titles with the 18-time champions.

Meanwhile Zesco have stated that they will issue a statement later over the development.

He has left Zesco in 4th place and fifteen points behind leaders Zanaco with seven games in hand.

His assistant Tenant Chembo is expected to be in charge of Zesco for the remainder of the campaign starting with Wednesday’s away date against Nkwazi.
