Opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has charged that President Edgar Lungu will have to leave office in August whether he likes or not.

Hichilema commonly known as HH said President Lungu must start preparing to leave in August when the country goes to the polls.

“Lungu is going whether he likes it or not. He must start packing,” HH told cheering crowd in Choma.

He vowed to take Lungu on and ensure that he leaves office when Zambians vote him out.

The UPND leader said Zambians had suffeted enough due to poor leadership. He said Lungu’s time in State House was numbered and urged him to enjoy the remaining days.

HH called for those who had not registered as voters to do so and turn up in numbers on the voting day.

The UPND leader who was accompanied by his two Vice presidents was in Choma to meet all aspiring candidates from Southern province.

And HH told hundreds of Choma residents who gathered at Choma Sports Club that the UPND’s target is to eradicate poverty.

He said it is unfortunate that the PF is directing Zambia Police to harass innocent individuals who want to listen to messages of how together we can build a better Zambia.

In reference to the brutal beatings and shootings by the Police on Choma residents who had gathered to receive him and his team, Hichilema said that only a party that is losing elections would resort to instilling fear in the people.

Meanwhile, the UPND President has called on the people of Choma and across the country to remain peaceful despite the economic challenges they were going through.

Speaking at the same occision, UPND Vice-President for Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba said it is clear that only a President like Hakainde Hichilema would save Zambia’s economy.

And his counterpart, Dr Canisius Banda adds that Zambia is a unitary State and that people must reject PF as it is perpetuating divisions.

The UPND President and his team have since left for Lusaka, after meeting it’s supporters and aspiring candidates in Southern Province.

The UPND leadership was in Choma as part of the countrywide party mobilisation meetings aimed at harmonising aspirants and insuring unity and peaceful elections ahead of 2016.
