Cocaine suspects found with a case to answer

The original suspects involved in trafficking 24.19 kilogrammes of the now missing cocaine at the Lusaka magistrate court have been placed on their defense.

The three are Sydney Kapembwa, a manager, Shibu Abraithi Likula, a bus driver and Teddy Matanda, a taxi driver.

A Chief resident magistrate, Kenneth Mulife has put the three accused persons on their defence despite the missing cocaine they were allegedly found with.

Magistrate Mulife in his ruling on case or no case to answer says he is satisfied that the State has established a prima facie case against all the accused persons.

In this case, the three accused people are facing three counts of trafficking and being in possession of 24.19 kilogramme of cocaine and being in possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime.
