The Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (ZESCO) has put some of its services to a hold, the suspended services include the new installations, receiving and working on new application forms as well as the construction projects.

The suspension is due to the ravaging coronavirus outbreak which has caused untold sufferings across the globe.

ZESCO Public Relations Manager Hazel Zulu said the move is meant to protect the utility’s workforce as well as the general public from contracting and spreading covid-19.

Zulu has called on ZESCO customers to make use of digital platforms to access services and conduct transactions.

She has also announced that ZESCO has with immediate effect closed its Kafue Office until further notice to curb spread of covid-19.

This comes after Presidents Lungu’s directive to lockdown Kafue for twenty fours to facilitate for covid-19 screening and testing.

Kafue District has recorded three confirmed cases of covid-19. As of yesterday it has been reported that more than 30 suspected cases have been picked up through the mass screening and testing program.
