The Zambia Postal Services Limited Workers in Lusaka have gone back to work.

The workers who have been on strike for close to a month demanding payment if their salaries have returned to work following government’s commitment to recapitalise the company.

This comes in the wake of the commitment made by Transport Communications Minister Brian Mushimba recently.

Dr. Mushimba said he is engaging the Ministry of Finance to release K50 million to recapitalise the company. He also promised to help the company to collect the K20 million that is owed to the company by some government ministries to help clear salary arrears

A check at Zampost main Post office in Lusaka yesterday found workers carrying out their duties normally.

Meanwhile, Martin Ngulube, the National Union of Communication Workers, Lusaka Branch Chairman has explained that the strike has been called off to allow management and the Union to engage in harmony over the delayed salaries.
