Zambians are celebrating Christmas

Zambians have joined the rest of the World to celebrate Christmas Day, believed by many Christians to be the day Jesus Christ was born.

In the Zambian capital, Lusaka the celebrations started on the eve 24th December 2012. Zambian Eye snappy check around the central districts found residents busy shopping for the annual day celebrations.

There was heavy presence of traffic in many Roads of Lusaka while decorations and flower trees were seen in many multimillion shopping malls that have been built in Lusaka recently.

In many residential areas music was head being played with fire works being blown through out starting midday of 24th December and the climax was at midnight.

The pubs remained open to early hours while other residents were seen trooping into churches for the services.

“I am going to spend my evening at church attending mass as we await the birth of Jesus Christ,” said Christine Phiri.
