UPND moves rally to Munali constituency next Sunday

The opposition UPND has moved its public rally, which was supposed to be held in Kanyama today, to Munali constituency next Sunday.

Party spokesperson Charles Kakoma announced this in a statement today, saying the venue will be communicated soon.

“We would like to inform the Nation that our planned rally in Kanyama today will not take place. However, we shall do so the next Sunday in Lusaka, Munali constituency and at a venue to be advised,” Kakoma stated.

He maintained that the cancellation of their Kanyama rally by the Ministry of Health was politically motivated.

“It is our sincere hope that the PF and it’s government will now cancel all other public gatherings which include independence day celebrations in Lusaka because not doing so, will be confirmation enough that the PF is only abusing the Public Order Act and the Health Act to disadvantage the UPND,” stated Kakoma.

“There is no doubt that should the Independence Day celebrations in any part of Lusaka go ahead on Tuesday , we will conclude that the decision by the Minister of Health Dr Chilufya Chitalu to postpone the UPND rally because of cholera was politically motivated. We shall then proceed to hold our rally next Sunday.”

  1. i thought the rally was cancelled because most of the chorela cases are coming from kanyama where most southerners live. the reason why most southerners live in kanyama is because thats the place they used when they when they brought cattle to lusaka before zambeef erazed them from the equation.

  3. They will probably plant a New Cholera Outbreak In Munali or find another excuse to ban UPND Rallies. After stealing the Election Victory from HH and UPND ,Lungu is insecure. The rigging of Elections and the illegitimacy that followed makes Lungu to go berserk each time HH’s name is mentioned. Just the mention of Petition makes Lungu’s blood boil. The man has been blocking the Petition becoz he knows he didn’t win the 2016 Election and he is in Power thru a Constitutional Coup. ECZ,Concourt and ECL connived to rig the 2016 Election. Evidence of irregularities and illegalities are available. The illegitimacy and the Unheard Petition are haunting Lungu. After leaving Power Lungu will be jailed for committing a Constitutional Coup to retain Power. The Truth will free Lungu. He should let the Petition be heard to find peace in his heart. Lungu is stewing in illegitimacy and is seeing HH’s shadow wherever he is.

  4. Mwansa, I am touched by your comment. Is it possible to have free and fair elections in 2021 if that is really what happened in 2016. People of Zambia, let’s be true patriots and help build a better nation to live in. I love my country Zambia and would really love to see ECL and HH reconcile without any form of intimidation.

  5. Any rally in so-called PF “strongholds” is dreaded by PF.
That is why “permits” are frequently denied to UPND.

  7. Insecure Lungu and his criminal Advisers are already scheming on how to ban the UPND Rally in Munali. If they cant plant Cholera and quarantine Munali they will find another excuse to ban the Rally. Lungu is very uncomfortable to see HH hold Rallies in the country becoz talk of the Election Petition, HH incarceration, PF Corrupt deals etc embarasses him.HH will certainly tell his supporters that the JCC has vindicated him over the Petition issue.JCC ruled that Concourt erred when it dismissed the Petition on the grounds that the 14days had expired. To the contrary JCC recently observed that Concourt used only 10 days and failed to hear and dispose off the Petition using the remaining 4 days. This means the Petition is alive and Concourt should review the Petition and Hear it without fail. Concourt should correct its mistakes.Although Concourt’s decision is Final it has no right to break the Law and its mistakes are not Final.
