The Zambia Under-20 Men’s Football National Team has continued shaping for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations first leg final round qualifier against Burundi on July 14 in Lusaka.

Under-20 assistant coach Charles Bwale said that the England based duo of Mwiya Malumo and Lifumpa Mwandwe will miss Sunday’s international friendly match against Malawi but will be available for the July 7 encounter against South Africa.

Speaking after the morning workout at Miller Grounds, Bwale said that the team was in high spirits with minor injury concerns for skipper Prince Mumba, Lameck Banda and Israel based Klings Mwape.

He said that the trio had undergone x-rays at Maina Soko Military Hospital with only soft tissue injuries for Mumba and Banda while Kangwa was recovered from a fractured leg.

Zambia plays Malawi on Sunday with another friendly match against South Africa on July 7 at Nkoloma Stadium.

The African champions host Burundi on July 14 before playing the return leg on July 21.
Winners over two legs will qualify to the Niger 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
