This is as it should be, HH tells Lungu

Opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has commended President Edgar Lungu for acknowledging the hunger situation in the country.

President Lungu who arrived in Livingstone for the Southern province investment exposition donated some relief food to starving family in Kazungula district.

Hichilema or HH as he is commonly called said this in a statement below:

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to our brother Mr. Edgar Lungu for finally  acknowledging the hunger situation in the country.

The hunger situation is a matter that should not be politicised as it is real and is ravaging households around the country.

For us, it does not matter whether Mr. Lungu is using taxpayers money to help our starving masses and it does not even matter the size of the mealie meal bags one is donating, whatever little one can afford will save a life, even for one day.

We wish to reiterate our call to local, regional and international bodies as well as individuals and businesses entities to come to the aid of our starving masses.

As already indicated through our notice to the police, we shall be in Soloboni township in Kafue next week on Wednesday to assess the extent of the hunger situation before heading to other places like Kabwe’s Makululu township in Central Province.
