Sampa elected PF President

Matero member of Parliament has been elected as the new President of the Patriotic Front (PF) at the extra ordinary conference held at Government Complex this afternoon.

Sampa won with a landslide victory after polling over 2900 votes out of the 3000 votes cast.

The conference attracted delegates from all the ten of provinces in the country.

Seven candidates successfully filed in their nominations to contest for the PF Presidency among them Miles Sampa,Lameck Njobvu,Robert Mulusa ,Jane Siyanga, Loyd Monga,Morgan Kano and Ali Zulu.

Returning Officer Morris Malawo declared Sampa as duly elected President of the PF.

And Sampa told the delegates that the PF has convened a general conference because some people have imposed themselves on party positions and do not want to be subjected to elections.

Meanwhile Mafinga member of parliament Robert Chawinga said Sampa will bring democracy in the PF which has been hijacked.

Meanwhile PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity Emmanuel Mwamba said the convention is illegal and is sponsored by the state.
