President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is this morning expected to officially file in his party nomination papers at the Patriotic Front (PF) Secretariat, as candidate for the position of party President for the next 5 years.

The PF Central Committee recently unanimously endorsed President Lungu as the party’s Presidential candidate for the forthcoming general conference.

PF Secretary General Davis Mwila said Lungu was endorsed as candidate after a PF Central Committee meeting that was held in Lusaka.

Mwila clarified that the Central Committee’s decision does not stop any aspirant from contesting for the position of party President.

Speaking during a press briefing at the PF Secretariat in Lusaka, the PF Secretary General said those aspiring for the position of Presidency will be required to pay 10 Thousand Kwacha as nomination fee.

He further urged those interested to contest to submit their application letters to his office from April 7 to 8, 2021.
