Lusaka Province PF youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba has challenged  opposition UPND national chairperson for women affairs Namakau Kabwiku to provide evidence of his alleged involvement in the stripping naked of a female UPND cadre during the Youth Day celebrations, reports Mwatitha Lubinga.

Kamba also claimed his party did not spark the violence that marred the event in which many youths mainly from the UPND suffered injuries.

Kamba told Zambian Eye in an interview that contrary to media reports, the violence that occurred on Youth Day was caused by UPND youths who wanted to flash red cards against the ruling party during the march past.

He explained that the youths from the PF took it as an act of provocation and reacted as a way to defend their party.

He wondered why the UPND youths decided to use a national event as a platform for politicking.

“If Ms. Kabwiku has evidence that I stripped that girl naked, let her take me to the police,” Kamba said. “What happened during the Youth Day was provoked by youths from the opposition UPND, who wanted to flash red cards during the march past as a sign that the ruling party had failed.

“It is clear that they wanted to disrupt the proceedings of the event and as PF youths we will not allow anyone to demean and insult our leaders and if the police will not act, we as youths will defend our president'” he added.

The youth leader urged youths from opposition political parties to respect the presidency, adding that he will not allow anyone to insult the government of the day.

And commenting on the defection of Chilanga MP Keith Mukata and Obvious Mwaliteta to the UPND yesterday, Kamba stated that the ruling party were not shaken as the two have always belonged to the opposition.

He said the party has received enough applications of capable people who intend to stand on the seats held by those that have crossed over to the UPND.

“We are not worried because as a party we have delivered to the Zambian people. We have enough applicants in the party who intend to stand including those from the opposition. Those who have defected to the UPND are in the strongholds of the  UPND, but the PF is still intact because we have replacements all over. For example, we have more that 12 applicants who have applied in Munali constituency,” he said .

  8. To flash a red card is not an offence. Mr Kamba should be arrested after elections.

    • Correction Intension to flash red cards as red cards were not flashed. Kamba must be a wizard who saw in his crystal ball that the UPND youths were to flash red cards. He therefore took pre-emptive action

  9. MR KAMBA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF.

WE ALL SAW WHAT HE DID ON YOUTHS DAY. HE ORGANISED A MOB OF RUTHLESS YOUTHS FROM CHIBOLYA COMPOUND, GAVE THEM BEER AND WERE SMOKING GANJA AS THEY MARCHED THROUGH TOWN ON THEIR WAY TO THE SHOW GROUNDS.

THEY BLOCKED ROADS AND DISRRUPTED TRAFFIC IN THE CBD.THEY MET A GIRL WEARING A RED CAP, THEY GOT HOLD OF THE GIRL STRIPPED HER NAKED AND FORCED HER TO PUT ON PF REGALIA.

KAMBA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PF VIOLENCE.

  10. This man has admitted committing all the crimes seen during the Youth Day through his most stupid justification of the crimes. He has further dared the stupid police to work for PF lest he and his cadres will take over police work. This is utter stupid and if police won’t arrest him, we shall ensure that come 11/8′ we shall teach him and his supporters and Kanganja a physical life lesson. REMEMBER FIRE CAN ONLY BE FAUGHT WITH FIRE. TORALANCE HAS A LIMIT.

  12. The police need to pick this Kennedy Kamba in connection with the fracas and stripping naked of a UPND girl, supporter during the youth day celebrations last saturday. May be they wanted to rape her who knows. Mr Kamba was in the forefront in attacking the opposition supporters. He instructed his pf thugs to carry out this devilish act on the innocent people who included school children. Even the veep and his other senior pf members saw what went on. Kamba instigated everything, so the police should act and bring him to book so that others learn from him once punished. Even president ecl i think cannot condone this barbaric behaviour if at all he means well when he says no to violence. The IG needs to work and not sit ndwii. PF is a very violent party that will put this country on fire if people like Kennedy Kamba are left loose.
