PF member writes to IG over Larry Mweetwa’s Facebook postings

Ephraim Shakafuswa a Patriotic Front (PF) cadre and brother to former Katuba Member of Parliament Jonas Shakafuswa has written to the Inspector General of Police, complaining against Larry Mweetwa a staunch United Party for National Development (UPND) cadre based in the United Kingdom. Shakafuswa also indicated his plans to report Mweetwa to the British government through the Zambian high commission in London for allegedly agitating and inciting civil unrest in Zambia through his Facebook Postings.

Shakafuswa, who was a UPND member until few months ago when together with his brother defected to the ruling PF, told a local tabloid  that he has decided to officially report  Mweetwa to police so that a red alert could be placed on him because his Facebook posting had the potential to cause civil unrest in Zambia.

 Shakafuswa, who held the position of  UPND Lusaka Province youth coordinator before he defected to the PF, said  he has also written to the Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja and was currently consulting on how he could also alert the British government through the diplomatic mission office on how best to deal with  Mweetwa.

“I have seen what Larry Mweetwa has posted on his Facebook page today. It has the potential to put this country on fire,” he said.

  Shakafuswa said the more Mweetwa continued posting alarming messages, the more it was becoming dangerous and he must be stopped.In his posting,Mweetwa urged citizens to be on the lookout for war and keep themselves-safe because the military can take over the country should the Constitutional Court fail to make a fair and just judgement over the petition..

“Today will be a dangerous day if judges decide to rape our Constitution. How can someone say mention hearing and judgment of a case be passed within 24 hrs. Not even subordinate courts behave this way,” Mweetwa posted on his Facebook page.
