Mozambique coach Joao Chissano says the pressure is on Zambia and not his side in this afternoon’s do-or-die 2015 AFCON Group F qualifier.

The third-placed Mambas’ entertain second-placed chipolopolo in Maputo. Both sides are tied on five points after four rounds of matches played.

“Zambia has always qualified to the Africa Cup, so they are the ones who are under pressure,” Chissano said at training in Maputo on Friday.

“Our fans want to see us beat Zambia and that’s the only pressure we have but we are prepared for it.”

Mozambique held Zambia to a scoreless draw in the first leg meeting on September 7 in Ndola and so the 2012 champions will be looking to make amends after a limp first leg performance at home.

The Mambas’ cause is likely to be helped by the absence of the Chipolopolo’s skipper Stoppilla Sunzu due to injury.

Mozambique are unbeaten at home from four games in the qualifiers with Niger the only side to have come away with a 1-1 draw on September 10.

Zambia, though, are unbeaten against Mozambique from fourteen meetings with 11 wins and three draws.

Meanwhile, Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has offered US$48,000 to the Mamba’s to beat the Chipolopolo and qualify for the Equatorial Guinea 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

And Mozambique Star player Domicas Pelembe said Nyusi, who was recently elected Mozambique president, promise has motivated the players on the need to qualify to the 2015 AFCON finals.

He said that the promise will help the players to work hard to qualify to the Africa Cup because it will be historic. But do not force yourself to do the impossible if things are very difficult, because you are Mozambican and we will always love you,” Nyusi said.

Mozambique Football Federation (MFF) president Feizal Sidat said the President’s offer was for all involved in this qualification.
