THE fishing rig operator linked to the drowning of six Seventh-Day Adventist church youths on Lake Kariba in Siavonga on January 1, 2022 has dispelled speculations that he might have forced them out of his vessel leading to their death.

Jonathan Haajaya, 25, the coxswain of the rig registered under a firm called Sunrise, said he did not force the youths to jump off his fishing rig but that they had joined in the fun with other local children who normally play on the vessel when they are swimming on the lake shore.
