President Michael Sata has directed Ministers and senior Government officials to concentrate on their co- duties and not the constitution making process.

President Sata says Ministers and senior government officials should not listen to people making demands for a new constitution because the country has a functional constitution.

The President said this at State House in Lusaka during a swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed Minister of Tourism and Arts, Jean Kapata and Zambia’s new High Commissioner to Nigeria Captain Selemani Phangula.

The head of state urged the two to work hard and uphold the current constitution.

Meanwhile, Ms Kapata has pledged to work hard and ensure that Zambia’s tourism potential is exposed to the world.

Ms Kapata who is also Mandevu Member of parliament says she will work with Zambia’s missions abroad in exposing the country’s tourism attractions.

Ms. Kapata adds that she will also prioritise the arts sector and embrace artists so that their sector is also supported by government.

Meanwhile, Mufumbwe Member of parliament, Steven Masumba
who was at the swearing-in ceremony congratulated Ms. Kapata on her appointment saying this has given the people of Northern Western representation in the Cabinet. / ZNBC
