The health attributes of guava keep the doctor away for a very long time.

Vitamin C –Fights all diseases, lowers risk of death

Guava is a great source of Vitamin C, touted by several studies for having unlimited health benefits and significantly reducing the chance of death from any disease imaginable.  Vitamin C works by neutralizing harmful radicals responsible for the development and progression of disease.

Pink guava.Heart health, blood sugar, blood pressure

Due to high fiber content, guava fruit is extremely effective for promoting heart health, balancing cholesterol, stabilizing blood sugar, and controlling blood pressure.  Guavas also boast high amounts of potassium, essential for healthy blood pressure and regular heart beat.

Rich in anti oxidants and fiber, guava eliminates belly fat.  This wonder fruit is also packed with massive amounts of anti-oxidants, including vitamin C, vitamin A, lycopene, and beta carotene, which slow down aging, reduce wrinkles, and maintain supple skin.  Lycopene also protects against and reverses sun damage to the skin.

Guava is loaded with folate which is renowned for tremendously boosting fertility, preventing birth defects and avoiding miscarriages.  Additionally, reliable scientific data show that compounds in guava leaf enhance sperm production.

A Taiwanese study published in the nutrition and cancer journal revealed that guava leaves contain compounds that not only destroy cancer cells, but disrupt the cycle of cancer cell production as well.  This effect appears to be particularly strong for fighting prostate and breast cancers.  In addition, pink guava contains lycopene which has extremely powerful anti cancer properties.

Intestinal health

Fiber found in guava fruit is vital for maintaining bowel regularity, improving stool texture, keeping stool bulky, and nurturing healthy intestinal bacteria.  A fiber rich diet also relieves constipation and prevents colon cancer.

Amazingly, guava leaf tea is a powerful antidote for dysentery and infectious diarrhea.  Research published in ‘Revista do instituto de medicina tropical de Sao paulo’ journal found that guava leaf extracts destroyed bacteria that cause infectious diarrhea.

Plus, guava is associated with prevention of hair loss, easing coughs and colds, treating toothache, and many more benefits.  Guava seeds and skin must be eaten too because they are highly concentrated in nutrients.
