The Lusaka Province FAZ executive is exploring ways of partnering with the refurbished Kuku grounds founded by former Nkoloma Ward councillor Tasila Lungu.

FAZ Lusaka province chairperson Jordan Maliti visited the site in the company of his Eastern Province counterpart Chrispin Kamuna and deputy general secretary Joseph Chimpampwe.

The facility that is in the heart of the high-density Kuku Township houses a state of art artificial turf, running track and Basketball Court with neat change rooms.

Board member and founder Tasila Lungu said her committee was looking to partnering with FAZ to ensure that the facility was put to good use.

Tasila said that the township housing the facility had a lot of youth challenges that could be eased with a coordinated sports program.

She said that her organization had no problems replicating the concept in other parts of the country.

Tasila announced that the facility that also has a modern police post within its premises would be launched soon.

And Maliti said the facility presented an opportunity to help grow the FAZ grassroots program.

He said FAZ had already zoned Lusaka Province under the grassroots program and hoped Kuku grounds would be incorporated as one of the venues.

Meanwhile Chimpampwe said FAZ could help with the maintenance of the surface through its trained personnel.

Kamuna said Eastern Province would be eager to learn how they could replicate the Kuku grounds concept.
