The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says it is saddened by the death of former Nakambala Leopards coach Weston Mumba.
Mumba who died this morning (Tuesday) at Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital also coached Zamsure, Lusaka City Council, Lusaka Dynamos and Mufulira Blackpool.
In his playing days Mumba starred for Green Eagles (1991-1993) before trekking to Zamsure where he played under the tutelage of the legendary Johns Chilengi.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says Mumba will be sadly missed for his contribution to the game.
“We are saddened by the death of Weston Mumba, he was a gentleman whose contribution in building current and future stars will remain with us for a long time,” Kashala said.
He added; “He coached at many clubs which demonstrates how much value he brought to the game. We can only wish the family God’s guidance in this difficult time.”
The funeral is being held in Lusaka’s Hellen Kaunda Township.
