Governing Patriotic Front candidate Edgar Chagwa Lungu has officially been declared Zambia’s sixth President in a tightly contested election held on January 20, 2015.

Hakainde Hichilema of the opposition UPND has disputed the election where Lungu beat him with about 20, 000 votes. He says the election results had been manipulated by the Electoral Commission of Zambia in favour of Lungu.

Lungu was declared winner around 10pm by Acting Chief Justice Lombe P. Chibesakunda who is was the Returning Officer of the presidential election after the final results were announced.

ECZ chairperson Justice Ireen Mambilima who is also the Deputy Chief Justice announced that Lungu polled 807,925 votes representing 48.33% against his closest rival Hakainde Hichilema who got 780, 168 votes representing 46.67%.

The election came about after the death of President Michael Sata in a London hospital in October 28, 2015.

  1. Cry baby HH, go suck Silvia Masebo’s teat!

Why can’t he just be civil and concede defeat without creating confusion. Through out the tallying process he was running to ECZ for cuddles. Lungu is the true leader who stayed calm and collected.

    HH is a farmer, period!

It is true that Lungu was calm before and during the election campaign, but don’t you know why? Somebody with a very big brain told me it was because he already knew the result before the election started.

  5. Your Excellency, President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. E. C. Lungu:

    Congratulations sir!
This was an elongated marathon; you crossed the finishing line first, bearing the mantle handed down to you by our beloved late president Mr. M. C. Sata (RIP).

I have always boasted among friends that when it comes to democracy, Zambia has only one competitor: the United States of America. We’re on our 6th President in a true democracy.
And I appreciate the support and encouragements from our global family.

It wasn’t easy, so many stumbling blocks, mostly deliberately designed to frustrate you Your Excellency.
However, like I wrote in my previous comments: that was training in readiness for the huge responsibilities that lies ahead.

Your Excellency, you have to hit the ground running. The next eighteen or so months will be nothing but work.
You have to visit all your people: every district.

The power of love has prevailed.
That’s all I needed; that I may give glory to God. Thank you Jesus!
And so, every constituency must be embraced. People have to know you. Bomfwafye!

My gratitude also goes to your team that held PF together through such a rough patch.
Thank you Zambians: what a democracy you’ve got for yourselves!

God bless you all. I love you.

      • @Michael Chisala,

Your attitude is the cause of your failure: pride.
Before a fall, pride sets in.

I did not address you or yours; I addressed mine: His Excellency, the president of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. E. C. Lungu.
His humility has done it! Love has conquered!

I’m the most delighted; the Lord has fulfilled my desire. God is love.

You’re at liberty to respond to my comments Chisala, only clarify your pain; people may help you.
You seem to be hating badly. Allow yourself to recuperate before you can make reasonable comments once again.
Otherwise, you may ruin even the little you have gained.

Quick recovery Mike. I love you–yaba! Awe mwe!

  6. HH Has Been Hospitalised. He Is Having Defficults In Breathing. I Blame The Upnd Team For This Development Because I Told Them To Get 8 Doctors For HH On The Day Of Announcement Of Edger As President Of Zambian. But They Turned A Blind Ear. Upnd Go And Attend To Your Leader. First Its Heart Attack Next It Will Be Court Cases. But This Wont Take You Anywhere Because You Are Losers. Jane Mulenga Pf Has Won, Go And Cut Your Clitoris. But later during the night when I read the comments I shold confess that I felt PROVOKED. The results are disputed and there is evidence of rigging and because of this I don’t feel pro – PF should not been excited over this win. God is never mocked.
