COVID-19 comes full circle in Zambia

The United Nations recently said the COVID-19 situation in the country has continued to deteriorate at an alarming rate since the first case in March this year.

As it stands, the outbreak has gone full circle reaching all the country’s ten provinces, with 48 of the 116 districts confirming cases.

Lusaka and Copperbelt remain the epicentres for the pandemic with increased cases in border towns like Solwezi and Nakonde.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that Zambia has recorded 225 new cases of COVID-19 out of 1,486 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

At least 3 new deaths and 197 recoveries have been recorded during the period in question.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 10,627 including 277 deaths and 9,437 recoveries.
