Zambia records 182 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death in the last 7 days

Zambia has in the last 7 days recorded 182 cases of Covid19 out of 9,275 tests done.

Western province recorded its first 9 cases.

Meanwhile, 154 patients have been discharged bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,132.

The minister of health Dr Chitalu Chilufya also said Zambia has also recorded one Covid19 related death.

The deceased had an underlying illness and was admitted at Lewanika General Hospital in Western Province. The late patient tested positive for coronavirus.

All in all, Zambia has now recorded 11 deaths.

The minister took time to thank various stakeholders who are working with the government in the fight against coronavirus.

Dr Chilufya urged the citizens to continue observing health measures that were put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus.

He also said later this week, President Edgar Lungu will address the nation on coronavirus and moves to keep the economy running amid the pandemic.
