Copperbelt University develops two COVID-19 solutions

Copperbelt University has developed two solutions aimed at fighting the spread of coronavirus; an Automated Walk through Sanitizing Spray System and the Herbal Based Sanitizer prototypes.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the two innovations, Higher Education Minister, Brian Mushimba praised the Copperbelt University for developing two solutions aimed at mitigating the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mushimba said universities have a key role to play in research and innovative solutions to the challenges the country is facing.

Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe urged other universities to partner with government in finding tangible solutions to improve people’s livelihoods.

Mwakalombe said time has come for Zambia to create local solutions to the many problems affecting the country.

Meanwhile, CBU Vice Chancellor Professor Naison Ngoma said the university is committed to helping foster national development through research.

Present at the ceremony were several scholars and other Senior government officials.
