Access Bank closes its Cosmopolitan Mall branch

The Access Bank of Zambia Limited has with immediate effect closed its Cosmopolitan Mall branch, citing coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure to its work force.

According to the statement, the branch will remain closed until further notice.

Part of the statement reads: “We regret to announce that the closure become necessary in the view of staff at the branch have been exposed to an individual who has subsequently tested positive for coronavirus.”

The bank said the ministry of health has been notified and has been providing guidance to the resolution. The bank added that it values the life and health of its stakeholders and that it is adopting the necessary measures to that effect.

“In line with our emergency response plan and following regulatory practices, the Cosmopolitan Mall branch has been temporarily closed for thorough disinfection.

“It is advised that anyone who visited the branch this past week should self quarantine for a period of 14 days starting immediately. Should you feel sick or exhibit any symptoms of coronavirus please call 909 immediately for advice on what to do,” read part of the notice.

The bank assured its clients that it will continue to serve them through alternative delivery channels. Adding that Access Mobile Apps, cards, mobile banking, WhatsApp banking and ATMs will be available 24 hours for their convenience.
