Vice President Inonge Wina and Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini will tomorrow Wednesday, lead other Members of Parliament in a mass testing exercise for Covid-19 at Parliament Buildings Clinic in Lusaka.
The mass screening will start early in the morning.
This also comes after UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has called on for the isolation and testing of all MPs for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, according to a statement released by Clerk of the National Assembly Cecilia Mbewe, MPs will undergo testing.
Meanwhile, Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has disclosed that the Coronavirus has spread to nearly all parts of the country.
Dr. Chilufya disclosed this in a Ministerial Statement in Parliament today.
He said as of yesterday, the pandemic engulfed 44 districts in the country.
And Dr. Chilufya also revealed that 60 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, out of the three hundred and 69 tests conducted.
Dr. Chilufya attributed the escalating numbers of COVID-19 to the severe cold weather and non-adherence to guidelines.
He said the cumulative cases of the pandemic in the country now stand at three thousand 38.
