In a dramatic turn of events thousands of residents turned up for President Edgar Lungu’s rally on Sunday at Mulambwa Grounds in Mongu.

This is the region which rejected President Lungu in the last two previous elections. He is on a three-day-official visit to Western province.

President Lungu has since thanked the people for turning up in numbers for his rally.

I want to thank everyone who turned up at our public rally yesterday at Mulambwa School Ground in Mongu, Western Province where I am for a three day working visit.

It was important to communicate with the masses and re-emphasize on our mandate and obligation to Western Province as a Government.

My Government has rolled out key development projects in the Province and we shall continue to do more.

It was important to remind ourselves that anyone who seeks to divide Zambians along lines of tribe and regionalism is an enemy of the people. We renewed the call for realizing the true meaning of One Zambia, One Nation!

We are stronger together. Let us join hands and build a Zambia succeeding generations will be proud of.

Thank you Western Province.
