I am back home safely after a tiring journey from New York and Seattle, USA. Praise be to God for his travelling mercies. Especially after the Brussels attacks, I thank God for his mercy. My trip to USA was very successful. I participated in the American Society for Public Administration conference successfully. It was a great time to be one of the few founders’ fellows selected across the globe. I represented Africa fairly and I thank my Nigerian brother and sisters that gave me the encouragement to continue flying the flag of Africa. Thank you to all Nigerians.

As I was travelling back I realized that I am totally responsible for my success and other can only support me. At the end of the day, we are solely responsible for our success and failure. And the sooner we realize that, we accept that, and integrate that into our work ethic, we will start being successful. As long as you blame others for the reason you aren’t where you want to be, you will always be a failure.

Jack Canfield has written that if you want to be successful, you have to take 100% responsibility for everything that you experience in your life. This includes the level of your achievements, the results you produce, the quality of your relationships, the state of your health and physical fitness, your income, your debts, your feelings everything! If you want to create the life of your dreams, then you are going to have to take 100% responsibility for your life as well. That means giving up all your excuses, all your victim stories, all the reason why you can’t and why you haven’t up until now, and all your blaming of outside circumstances. You have to give them all up forever.

So when graving for success the first thing you need to realize is the fact that success comes from God. Always remember this. This is why many people create their own spiritual being ‘gods’ so that its helps them to succeed. But for us Christian we must believe in God almighty at all time. True success must begin with faith in God. It is written in the bible   that remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. While God told Joshua that Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but he should meditate on it day and night, observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then he would make his way prosperous and have good success. So our ways can only be prosperous if we anchor ourselves in the word of God.

Secondly we can only succeed when our attitude to success is right. One of the most important steps you can take toward achieving your greatest potential in life is to have a positive attitude.

A positive attitude helps you cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worries and negative thinking. With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimistic, and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing.

Lastly leverage on others. Leverage is the ability to control a lot with just a little. It gives you the ability to utilize more than just you. Through leverage, you can effect change much more rapidly. Leverage equals speed, or velocity. The more leverage you have, the faster your journey to success.
