There is a scheme by the UPND Administration to arrest Aspiring PF member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo and charge him with murder, says PF Acting president Given Lubinda.
Last month, the PF made the same claims through its Chairman for Information and Publicity Rapheal Nakachinda that Police on the Copperbelt had been instructed by State House to arrest Lusambo for the murder of National Democratic Congress member Obert Kasongo and only release him after the nominations.
Lubinda has since asked Zambians to guard and protect Lusambo after Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo is alleged to have ordered the Police to arrest the Kabushi former MP on murder charges. The PF claims that last week Matambo revealed that his party cannot afford to meet Lusambo and Joe Malanji on the ballot in the by-elections to be held in Kabushi and Kwacha constituencies.
He told the Police to arrest Lusambo and charge him with a murder case in order to bar him from filling in his nominations.
But Lubinda has asked Zambians not to allow UPND to kill democracy by trying to use dirty schemes to bar Lusambo.
The issue of the duo running in the by-election is currently in court after they went to court when the Electoral Commission of Zambia rejected their nominations. The elections that were due for September 14, 2022 have since been suspended to unknown date.
