Opposition United Party for National Development – (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has thanked the immediate past UPND Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba for the services rendered to the party.

Hichilema has also instructed all UPND members to respect Mwamba’s democratic rights.

Mwamba, better known as GBM, who was suspended by the UPND for gross misconduct, resigned from the opposition party to rejoin ruling Patriotic Front in Lusaka today.

“We would like to thank our former Vice President Dr. Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba for the services he rendered to the party in our quest to run the country better”, Hichilema said in a statement.

“We wish our brother, GBM, all the best in his new journey and future endeavour.”
