Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has launched Muzala citizens’ appreciation fund to honour excellence in sports and he has pledged K5000.

Apparently, the beneficiary of this noble cause is non other than 400m runner, Muzala Samukonga who became the 4th gold medalist joining three other Zambians in making history at the Commonwealth Games.

Pledging his seed contribution, Sampa urged other like minded Zambians and corporates to come on board in honouring excellence in sports.

Sampa explains:

CHAMPION (Gold Medalist) MUZALA SAMUKONGA CITIZENS APPRECIATION..

Following a suggestion from Dr S Mwaba of UNZA and to which most citizens approved, a voluntary donation for our Commonwealth Gold Winner Muzala Samukonga.

This is meant to be aside from what the Government or Athletics association may have planned for him. This is for all citizens that appreciated Muzala’s breath taking last minute fight like an Eagle overtaking 4 opponents last 5 seconds of the 400M race.

Muzala is now the new 400M Commonwealth Champion and if we all rally behind him, he can and will Win the next World 400M Championship.
