No body retrived as rescue operations go into day 2

Government says it has mobilized resources to ensure that the over 30 illegal miners that are trapped at Kasenseli dump site in Chingola are retrieved.

Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo has disclosed that Officers from the Zambia Army, Zambia National Service and the Zambia Police from Mufulira and Chingola are currently on site to help with rescue operations.

Matambo says Government has since managed to get names of those trapped and has established that some are from Mufulira, Kitwe and Luanshya.

He has since assured the family members to the Victims to remain calm as Government is doing everything possible to see that the victims are retrieved.

Matambo said this after visiting the scene of the accident.

And Chingola Constituency Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga has called on residents to desist from giving false information that some bodies have been retrieved.

He said the rescue operators on site are doing everything possible to ensure that they pump out the water in tunnels where the victims are trapped.

Mulenga says Government has come up with the secretariat that will be responsible for giving out correct information to the Public.

Meanwhile, Mines and Minerals Development Minister Paul Kabuswe has called on members of the Public to stop Politicizing the accident.

The rescue operators on site are still trying to retrieve the bodies and so far, no one has been retrieved.

The three Ministers are since camping in Chingola to give solidarity to the affected families.
