The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the ruling Patriotic Front of electoral malpractice and abuse of office for hiring a ferry for the next 20 days exclusive of other political parties.

In a statement, NDC Vice President Joseph Akafumba says the PF have hired the ferry which moves from Samfya habour to Chilubi island for the next 20 days barring all private vehicles from using it.

Akafumba says NDC party officials have been stuck at Samfya habour for two days as there is no other way of getting to Chilubi island to participate in the by election.

He has since written to the Chief Electoral Officer Patrick Nshindano to intervene in the matter.
