Mashombe Blue Jeans Founder dies

Nebert Mashombe the founder and leader of the legendary Mashombe Blue Jeans Band has died, reports Asa Manda.

The Legendary died quietly from his home this Monday afternoon, 30th January 2023.
His Son, Charles Mashombe known as (Charlie one) confirmed to Zambian Eye that his father who had been unwell died this afternoon.
He came to the limelight of traditional Tonga music in the early 90s and his music has stood a test of time.
Mashombe hails from a place called Cheelo outskirt of Muzoka in Choma district of Southern province.
His last public performance was in August 2021 at the inauguration ceremony of President Hakainde Hichilema at Heroes Stadium where he left Lusaka Residents talking with his “Welcome Ladies and Gentremen (Gentlemen) song and he pronounced as Gentreman.
Mashombe was also a prominent figure at main public events such as the Tonga Music concert organised by Radio Chikuni, the Lwiindi Gonde ceremony among others.
He had released more than 10 albums with hit songs that he will live to be remembered.
