The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has refuted rumors circulating on social media claiming that it has granted a license to a certain business entity to establish a Strip Club at a named mall in Lusaka.

The council has categorically stated that no such license has been issued by the Local Authority.

LCC public relations manager Chola Mwamba says no business entity has been given any license even if any one applied to run such a business, the local authority will not accept.

For the past few days, social media has been flooded with claims that an alleged strip club at Lewanika mall in Lusaka has been opened.

However, Mwamba has clarified to state that no such business is scheduled to be opened in Lusaka.

“LCC wishes to respond social media speculations that it has given a license for a strip club to a certain business entity. We wish to inform members of the public that no such license has been issues by the local authority.”

“The public would further wish to note that it is guided by the laws of this country to regulate any form of business in the city. We would also like to note that no application has been received from any business entity with regards to opening the alleged strip club,” she said.
