UPND Kitwe rally

Kitwe residents this afternoon turn up in numbers for a card renewal rally of the opposition UPND, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent.

The rally was addressed by party leader Hakainde Hichilema (HH).

A Zambian Eye Political Analyst who was at the event says this is the biggest political rally the UPND has ever held on the Copperbelt province.

This should send shivers to the ruling party whose support base is Copperbelt, the province currently with the largest number of registered Voters, our Analyst observes.

And addressing the rally, HH the Kitwe rally is a signal enough that it is now over for Edgar Lungu and his PF.

The UPND told the rally that he address same meetings in all the towns of the Copperbelt province with or without poli e permit.

HH who was still speaking by press time assured that his first priority once elected will be to reduce the price of mealie meal, the country’s staple food then provide free education and created jobs.

He said the PF was a serious failed project and that Zambians should unite and vote it out in 2021.

  1. I do not trust UPND I voted for UPND four times in a row and I had been disappointed four times. Their rallies had been like that fully packed. But election results so disappointing, terrible and heartbreaking. This time I’m not going to vote. Our bresident is not vocal enough to turn tables around and moreover he is supporting gay rights no no no no no!!!!!

  2. The report is fake and the writer is illiterate.
The UPND promises are also fake. How will HH reduce mealie meal prices without hitting the farmers. Subsidies? The IMF will squeeze him. But this is fantasy HH will only rule in his dreams.

  5. Akainde has a tendency of busing his supporters all the way from Monze and dundumwezi and Kanyama. Just to prove a point. Bowman had a rally in Kabushi and it was successful in all ramifications with no busing involved.

  6. Copperbelt is Zambian’s most politically enlightened province. Historically, this comes from an observed trend of not missing any opportunity so as to make informed decisions. Every politician will thus be welcome. Just watch out for the ballot box results….!!!

  7. Something wrong with most of you. You worry more about Lungu losing elections than your welfare or the future of your children! Very dumb!

    • ‘Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad’! I can find no other explanation why anyone who is not part of Lungu’s kreptocracy can wish Lungu to continue in power, destroying the future of two generations at least.

  8. PF living in denial, some crazy MP who also doubles as deputy whip unashamedly said in parliament that UPND had buses and ‘trained’ those people at the rally. Truth be told PF are she’ll shocked at this development. And some chap is talking about how many defectors from PF were received, this was a card renewal rally, in any case how would the defectors be received when PF does not have cards. Truth be told PF must be worried, their so called stronghold is slipping away.
