JCC hearing against DPP kicks off today at Mulungushi

The Judicial Complaints Commission ( JCC) will be hearing the case of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Lillian Shawa-Siyuni.

The sittings will take place at Mulungushi International Conference Centre beginning at 09;00hrs.

Last week President Hakainde Hichilema suspended the DPP following recommendations by the JCC.

Shawa-Siyuni declined to attend the hearing as she had filed a Judicial review of the decision to deny her the Waiver for her Oath of Secrecy.

The JCC proceeded to hear the complaints and established a prima facie case, the basis for the suspension.
