It is a miracle that Rainford Kalaba is alive after a fatal accident, says TP Mazembe Owner Moise Katumbi after he flew to Zambia to see his club’s former soccer legend who is hospitalized at the University Teaching Hospital’s (UTH) Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Katumbi flew to Lusaka from Congo to Lusaka the Zambian capital to see Kalaba who survived a fatal accident that claimed the life of a woman he was with near Kafue on Lusaka – Livingstone Road. He has been hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit at Zambia’s biggest hospital.
Speaking to Journalists after seeing Kalaba on Tuesday evening, 23rd April 2024, Katumbi said it was God for Kalaba to be alive. He explained that he could not belief too when a story was posted on social media that he had died.
“Kalaba must thank God a million times. I am so happy to God because it is a miracle for Kalaba to be alive after that accident,” Katumbi said.
Katumbi said he was happy with Kalaba’s condition that he had to walk him out of his admission room. He explained that Kalaba should be back to TP Mazembe soon as he was part of the Coaching staff.

Kalaba had been at the Congolese Lubumbashi based as a Player for 12 years and won some silverware with the club before he retired. He was also a key midfielder for the Zambian National Team and was part of the team that won the first ever Africa Cup in 2012.
