Controversial reality show ‘Lusaka Hustle’ is back on air after the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) lifted the suspension of the Zambezi Magic show.
The reality show which documents the lives of three Zambian celebrities was suspended by the IBA following a public outcry that it promotes a lifestyle, contrary to Zambian values and culture.
But after a thorough review of the show’s upcoming episodes, the IBA arrived at the conclusion that Lusaka Hustle contains no controversial elements that violate any Zambian law and could therefore return to the screens.
Confirming the return of the reality show, Multichoice Zambia said: “MultiChoice Zambia is thankful to the IBA Board for convening a multi-stakeholder forum to assess concerns about the Lusaka Hustle show. We are pleased to confirm the immediate lifting of the suspension and the Board’s confirmation that upcoming episodes contain no controversial elements that violate any Zambian law. MultiChoice Zambia has engaged Zambezi Magic to resume the scheduling of the show on Thursday, 21 February 2019.”
