UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema says Kanchibiya member of parliament Martin Malama’s fight for relevance in the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) is “sad to watch” and has asked members of the public to “pray for him”.

Dr. Malama has been on a war path lately, launching a series of attacks on Hichilema and the UPND, accusing them of, among other things, advocating for the rights of gays and lesbians in the country.

In his latest attack, Dr. Malama accused the country’s main opposition leader of skipping national prayers in preference to meeting his “Freemasonry friends” in the United States of America.

But Hichilema, who traveled to Washington DC last week at the invitation of the Woodrow Wilson Center, has taken to Twitter to respond to Dr. Malama in a typically dismissive fashion.

“Dr. Malama’s fight for relevance in the PF is quite sad to watch. I feel nothing but sympathy for his situation. Pray for him, fellow citizens,” tweeted Hichilema.

Meanwhile, Hichilema has described as “pathetic” PF media director Sunday Chanda’s challenge to the US Embassy in Zambia to state in what capacity the opposition leader managed to woo investments worth US$25.8 billion from the USA.

Speaking to Q FM, Chanda questioned how an opposition leader who is not serving in government attracted such huge investment pledges and wondered what Hichilema will gain from the deal.

However, Hichilema responded by simply retweeting a Hot FM tweet containing the news item with the word “pathetic”.

  2. This is the problem with pf. One must benefit personally and not the country. This is a clear admission that pf benefits individually from loans they get. We have caught you napping mr Sunday.

  4. Iam not usually inspired by leaders who always want to betray their country to the outside world , as much as any one can learn there is no country on this earth where everything is perfect, however people in these countries work extra hard to overcome their challenges without travelling to the outside world to complain and seek help , this is funny leaders should learn to stand as leaders to solve their problems at home.
What I do know is that no foreign country will develop your country, leaders must be brave enough like the Sata and did what he did.
HH must be a brave leader who can stand on his feet and face consequences of leadership than always ran to outside help for local problems.
Leaders like this opposition don’t know how they being belittled by those they seek help from

    • OffcouOfcourse your display of naivity can be forgiven. You are purely ignorant because you don’t seem to realise that this govt has borrowed more money than this country has ever borrowed since independence. You hVe forgotten the Euro bonds and Chinese loans, all because you want to be seen to be condemning one HH. You would do well to keep quiet.

At times your hate for someone can reveal a lot about you and you capabilities, late alone intergrity.
Your tribal inclination will relegate you to the political dumpsite.
Sunday is irrelevant to the current political, economic and social responsibilities. One must not be like a rabbied dog that just barks at anything and any sound.

  6. Shilimubemba, first and foremost no one cares what tribe you are. Your saying shilimubemba shows that you are bombs.
You must be an ignorant of cadre. Even Sunday chanda would have told you that USA is strong economically because of borrowing from China.

  9. This young man appears to be running a business rather than a political party. It’s time the running of the party was given to a politician. Investors will no doubt demand their pound of flesh. Ever heard of the concept of undue influence? State capture is probably easier to understand.
