HH and GBM thank Zambians

HH & GBMUnited Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has thanked the people of Zambia for remaining peaceful during the three days the party’s vice-president for administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba was incarcerated at Lusaka’s Central Police Station.

Speaking when he addressed hundreds of Lusaka residents at the UPND secretariat this afternoon, Hichilema said he is grateful to Zambians for showing unity, love and selflessness even when the Mwamba was arrested and detained.

And Mwamba, commonly known as GBM, expressed his whole-hearted appreciation for the support of Hichilema rendered to him during his arrest.

Mwamba revealed that he was a loner during his days in PF and MMD, but not in the UPND where he says he has been warmly welcomed and treated as a member of the family from the start.

He took the opportunity to remind the crowds that Zambia will indeed be liberated under Hichilema because of his great love for the country and its people, in combination with his capability as a visionary manager and hard worker.

Meanwhile, thousands of Lusaka residents today marched along the UPND leader’s convoy from Lusaka Magistrate Courts through Longacres to the UPND Secretariat.

Both the young and the old walked and jogged in a jubilatory mood as the two UPND leaders flashed the Party symbol.

Mwamba was arrested on Friday last week on charges of proposing violence has been released on bail this morning by Lusaka magistrate court after he entered a not guilty plea.
