Hamaundu chiefdom to host cuundu traditional this year

Chief Hamaundu of the Tonga speaking people in Pemba District has disclosed that his chiefdom will this year hold the first ever Cuundu Traditional Ceremony.

Chief Hamaundu told Chikuni Radio News that the Cuundu Traditional is scheduled for 6th and 7th of August 2023 at a venue to be decided soon, but within the Chiefdom.

He explains that the significance of this traditional ceremony is to showcase the origin of the Hamaundu chiefdom and its customs.

He adds that during this ceremony the traditional sites will also be shown and explained to the people.Meanwhile Chief Hamaundu has appealed for financial support from well-wishers and various stakeholders in order to successfully host this ceremony.
