Who would have thought that a party full of intellectuals would be complaining about a Grade 12 Certificate today when actually their desired minimum qualification was a degree. It was claimed that, this will prove that you are highly disciplined.

So what’s the problem now?

Law is law! People go to ECZ with no other identity other than the G12 certificate. If the certificate is fake you cannot compel ECZ to confirm that it is genuine just because you are from party A or party B.

The New people-driven Constitution which was signed by His Excellency President Edgar Lungu is already bearing fruit. You can see the way opportunists are regrouping while the democratically elected government of the people, remains clean and filtered out.

The 50% + 1 requirement has already cleansed out the vote splitting, forcing one-man makeshift parties like Mpombo and DF/UDF etc, to join bigger parties. This is the progress MMD failed to give us when we requested for a new people-driven Constitution.

Enemies of progress try to demonise Edgar Lungu and yet he has given us what we asked for.

We should all be proud of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu!

May the Soul of President Michael Sata continue resting in peace. Amen!

  1. Don’t worry soon we will know who will be with Edgar Lungu and Hakainde Hichilema for 11.08.2016 elections. At least all those to be in parliament will be grade twelve certificate holders. Debates may for once make sense. How I wish this was the minimum for councillors, MPs a degree and Presidency Masters degree. Then also a minimum of certain stability of financial stamina in all those aspiring for Political public office.

  2. Grade 12 certificate threshold need not be a problem. Zambia is awash with grade 12 certificate holders.
As for whether the certificate is genuine or not ECZ could collaborate with the Examination Council of Zambia to verify.
Winning elections is a numbers game as his Excellence the President alluded in one of our Daily papers. So do not expect any party aspiring to form government to reject defectors from other parties. You know when a member of another party joins your party he comes with so many votes from his household. So who will reject them, tell me who will except one who does not know what he is doing.
All those who are making negative comments concerning defectors joining other parties, let me tell you would not do so if they were joining theirs.
