First Lady Mutinta Hichilema today graced the Lusaka Indian Ladies Association (LILA) for a fund-raising event to mark India’s 75th Independence celebrations, reports Asa Manda.
The event was characterized with Indian culture, food and dance.
“I was delighted to have joined the Lusaka Indian Ladies Association (LILA) for a fund-raising event to mark India’s 75th Independence celebrations,” Mrs Hichilema said “We were treated to a festival of Indian culture, food and dance.”
The LILA which was launched in 1979 has been instrumental in the offering of dedicated services to the plight of the vulnerable in society, in the areas of education, health and the upkeep of orphanages.
India has enjoyed a cordial relationship with Zambia for decades.
