Fake ZESCO recruitment officers exposed

ZESCO Limited says it has unearthed a scam in which unscrupulous people purporting to be employees of ZESCO are soliciting for money from unsuspecting members of the public in exchange for employment at Zesco.

Zesco public relations manager Hazel Zulu said the fraudsters are impersonating Zesco employees and are claiming to have privileged information and connections within the company promising offers of employment in exchange for money.

“We would like to emphasize that Zesco Limited is an equal opportunity employer with well-structured employment systems and procedures and will at no time request potential applicants to make any payment during the recruitment process,” Zulu said.

She further said any available employment opportunities are advertised in mainstream media and the official Zesco Limited website.

“We, therefore, strongly urge members of the public and any victims of such scams to report these fraudulent individuals to ZESCO Limited or the nearest police station so that these culprits are brought to book,” Zulu said. -Mwebantu
