Doctors remove remaining needles from young Richard

A team of surgeons at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) have successfully operated and removed the remaining needles and wires from the body of 3-year-old Richard Zulu of Chipata.

The toddler, whose discovery of having over 40 needles and wires in his body remains a mystery, was evacuated to Lusaka for the final phase of the operation.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary in Charge of Administration, Dr. Kennedy Malama, has confirmed to the development in a brief statement in a Ministry of Health WhatsApp group.

“The operation for Richard went on well from 1200hrs to just after 1500hrs. He is currently admitted in icu where he has continued to receive post operative treatment. A very Detailed update shall be given later in the week” said Dr. Malama.

  2. I have decided not to believe that this story is true. This is too much rubbish to believe. Honestly how can this happen? And the mother is saying she has no idea how these needles entered her child? NONSENSE! IFYABUPUBA!! What a country! Shame!!

    • I wonder about the validity of the story also Jerabo. If only because the size of those needles all around his organs would have caused some serious internal bleeding at a minimum.
      If it is true, it’s the work of insane people – including his mother.
