Council kicks out vendors from CBD

Choma City Council has cleared the Central Business District off vendors in a move to bring sanity to the town.

The exercise was conducted on Wednesday morning, Council Public Relations Manager Kameko Manda said the vendors were given a warning last week to vacate their posts.

He said the vendors resisted the hence they have been removed by force.

Meanwhile, vendors across the country have been accused of ruining the image of the country’s towns.

In most cases they operate from undesignated places without proper facilities.

Fears have been raised that they cause the spread of water borne diseases.
